BANJA LUKA, April 6 (Hina) - The district court in the northern
Bosnian city of Banja Luka on Wednesday sentenced Bogdan Gigovic, 31, from
Bosanska Gradiska, to 13 years in prison for murder and robbery. On
November 17, 2004, Gigovic broke into the parish office in Bosanska Gradiska
with the plan to rob it, but was confronted by Catholic parish priest Kazimir
Visaticki, whom he attacked and killed with an iron bar. He fled the scene with
the stolen goods, but was arrested the same day.
The court changed Gigovic's earlier four-year prison sentence for rape
to a single sentence of 15 years and ordered that he undergo treatment for
alcoholism.
