BRCKO, April 4 (Hina) - Thirteen EU ambassadors, members of the
Peace Implementation Council in Bosnia-Herzegovina, visited the northern Sava
river town of Brcko on Monday to meet local authorities for talks on reform
processes in the country and the place of Brcko District in those
processes. A statement from the closed-door meeting said that Brcko
District could be taken as a good example for the whole country in its
pro-European reform efforts.
District Supervisor Susan Johnson said that Brcko District was an
independent local government unit that had always supported the process of
reform of the State of Bosnia-Herzegovina and that the country should support
the district.
The district is an important factor that is contributing to the state
in political and economic reform and reform is the only road that will take
Bosnia-Herzegovina to the European Union, Johnson said.
