"The letter is signed by Aleksandar Popovic on behalf of (a hitherto unknown organisation) the Serb Liberation Army," spokesman Goran Trdin told Hina.
"The letter arrived the day before yesterday, but it was only this afternoon that I managed to talk to the mayor, who is on an official trip to the United States of America. We agreed that, given the severity of the threats, I deliver the letter to Osijek Police Department Chief Vladimir Faber," Trdin said.
The letter is full of curses at the expense of the mayor, the Croats and Croatia, and says that the war will be over only after Serbia establishes its western borders along the Virovitica-Karlobag line, the spokesman said.
