The European Parliament was represented by deputies of the most important political groups in the Parliament - the People's Party, the Socialists and the Liberals.
The meeting, which is dedicated to Croatia's integration with the EU, was opened by European Parliament President Pal Schmitt.
The European Parliament has always followed Croatia's development and path to the EU and supported developments in Croatia, notably reforms, and all activities related to admission to the EU, Schmitt said.
The co-chairman of the Dubrovnik meeting, Gordan Jandrokovic, who chairs the Croatian Parliament's Committee on Foreign Policy, said that the meeting would focus on the negotiating process and development of Croatia-EU relations, as well as the European Constitution, and the EU's financial prospects until 2013.
The meeting was also addressed by Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic, who urged the fulfilment of all criteria from the 35 chapters of the acquis communautaire.
Members of the joint committee today met the government's commissioner for Dubrovnik County, Zelimir Bosnic, and Dubrovnik mayor Dubravka Suica, as well as representatives of the local tourism board.
The Dubrovnik meeting ends on Tuesday with the adoption of conclusions.
