"Stability, self-sustainability and European prospects of Bosnia and Herzegovina are of vital interest to Croatia. Good relations with all neighbours are the foundation of Croatia's foreign policy, regional cooperation and the joint future in the European Union," Josipovic said in a statement his office released on Saturday.
He recalls that casting votes is not only the right but also the duty of every citizen.
"Therefore I call on all Croat voters in Bosnia and Herzegovina to go to the polls," Josipovic said describing that country as a neighbouring and friendly state.
Casting their votes Croats can contribute to the further democratic development and equality of all citizens and peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Croatian president said.
On Sunday, over three million eligible voters will elect a new tripartite Bosnian state presidency, a House of Representatives of the state parliament and Houses of Representatives in the country's two entities -- the Bosniak-Croat federation and the Serb republic. A president and two vice presidents of the Serb entity will also be elected. In the Croat-Bosniak entity, voters will elect deputies to assemblies in the federation's ten cantons.
The polling stations open at 7 am and close at 7 pm.
The Bosnian central election commission is likely to announce preliminary results about 11 pm Sunday.
