"First and foremost, a climate should be created for people to go to the polls and to prove in this way their civil rights, dignity and duty. By going to the polls, they show their commitment to the country and to their civil rights," the dignitary said at a news conference in the Bosnian capital on Thursday.
Voters will vote according to their conscience, and it is important for them to see people in whom they will place their confidence. Voters should relentlessly insist, after the elections, on the realisation of all promises given before the elections, Puljic said.
Commenting on the current campaign ahead of the general elections, Puljic said it was proceeding in a considerably calmer atmosphere than campaigns before the previous polls.
As regards major Croat political parties, Puljic said that "they have not touched important matter in the pre-election campaign".
However, it is more important what the parties will work on when they come to power, the cardinal said.
