ZAGREB, Jan 8 (Hina) - The Croatian National Foundation for the
Development of Civil Society has approved 30 grants totalling more than 5.1
million kuna to organisations promoting human rights, democracy, environmental
protection, sustainable development, media, and social entrepreneurship. The decision was made at a session on 22 December last year, when the
Foundation's Managing Board adopted the conclusions of the Council for
Strategic Investment in the Development of Civil Society, which had examined
applications for institutional support.
The Foundation said in a statement that grants were mainly awarded to
organisations promoting human rights, democratic institutions and the rule of
law as a precondition for the development of civil society.
