ZAGREB, Dec 15 (Hina) - With donations amounting to around one
billion euros, the European Commission is the leading European donor of
nonprofit organisations, which makes "The Guide Through EU Funding" a very
valuable book with an overview of EC budgetary items and projects intended for
financing various projects of NGOs, the head of the National Foundation for the
Development of Civil Society, Cvjetana Plavsa Matic, said at a news conference
in Zagreb. Plavsa Matic was speaking at the launching of the
Croatian edition of the "The Guide Through EU Funding - Accessing Europe's
Largest Donor".
This is the 11th edition of the book, which is originally published by
the nongovernmental organisation European Citizen Action Service (ECAS) from
Brussels. It is important because it is the first publication from this area to
be released in Croatia, which along with a list of funds of the largest
European donor also contains descriptions of the most important EU
institutions, their activities, the structure of the EU budget and advice on
how to collect money from EU funds.
