The trade union says in a statement that it has been waiting for Minister Popijac to answer those questions for quite a while. Some of the questions were raised at the government's meeting on 30 November 2009, but no answer has been given so far. At that session, Popijac said the textile industry strategy was not good and that it should be changed.
However, the trade union wonders whether the minister has taken any measures so far to improve the strategy.
The trade union notes that Popijac, who cannot attend today's meeting as he is travelling to Split for talks on shipyards, has not attended any meeting on the textile industry with trade unions since he stepped into office.
He attended meetings at which employers from this sector were present, according to the statement.
The trade union said that over 5,000 jobs had been lost in the textile industry in recent months.
