He said that there were also great possibilities for expanding bilateral cooperation in investment projects and in the tourism and trade sectors.
The head of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK) department for overseas countries, Miroslav Karamarkovic, said that Chinese consumers sought new brands and new countries, which he said was as an opportunity for Croatian companies, particularly those in wine-making and the food industry.
In 2009, trade between China and Croatia totalled USD 1.48 billion, with Croatia's imports amounting to USD 41 million.
In the first seven months of 2010, trade between the two countries was USD 805 million. Croatia's exports to China were USD 19 million and China's exports to Croatia USD 786 million.
During the forum, business people from some 30 Chinese companies held bilateral talks with their Croatian counterparts.
