According to a press release from Seks's office, Lukovac expressed a wish that the good Croatian-Montenegrin relations would serve as a model to other countries in the region.
"Montenegro must face up to its recent history" to help in creating a positive environment in relations between the two countries, Lukovac said, adding that he expected that a forthcoming visit by Seks to Montenegro would provide additional impetus to closer ties between the two neighbouring countries.
Seks was due to visit Montenegro on February 19 and 20 at the invitation of the Chairman of the Montenegrin Assembly, Ranko Krivokapic.
Seks said he was pleased to be able to welcome the first Montenegrin ambassador to Croatia, and that the Croatian government's statement on relations between Croatia and Montenegro was an excellent basis for future cooperation.
The Croatian Parliament is ready for closer cooperation with the Montenegrin Assembly and its committees in conveying experiences from the process of accession to the European Union and NATO and boosting economic ties, the press release said.
