In Sunday's interview with the Podgorica-based daily Vijesti, Turcinovic said that Montenegro's compensation for the damage caused to Croatia would not have to be paid only in money but also in state companies' shares or other models of compensation.
"Montenegro has its limits due to the size of its economy and we are aware of that. Damages and an apology help in stopping to live in the past," the newspaper quoted him as saying.
Montenegrin Parliament Speaker Ranko Krivokapic has recently said it is imperative that Montenegro reach a settlement on compensation to Croatia for the attacks on the southern Adriatic resort of Dubrovnik in the early 1990s. He has said that "although (Montenegro) did not make political decisions in that dirty war, it was used in other ways".
