PODGORICA, Feb 6 (Hina) - Montenegrin President Filip Vujanovic
said on Tuesday that Podgorica supported a viable solution for the future
status of Kosovo that should be sought through internationally mediated
negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina based on the plan proposed by UN
envoy Martti Ahtisaari. In an interview with national radio,
Vujanovic also said that he expected that Montenegro would be admitted to
Council of Europe membership in April.
He went on to say that the International Court of Justice in The Hague
should decide whether Montenegro could be exempt from genocide charges brought
against the now defunct Union of Serbia and Montenegro by Bosnia and
Herzegovina, given the fact that Montenegro was not a successor to the state
union.
