More than 700 people were killed in the rain-triggered landslide in northwestern China, with the toll likely to rise as several hundred people are still missing.
ZAGREB, Aug 12 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor and
Foreign Minister Gordan Jandrokovic sent letters of condolences to
their counterparts -- Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao and Minister
Yang Jiechi -- respectively on the casualties in flooding and
mud-slides in Zhouqu in Gansu province, the Croatian government stated
