ZAGREB, Aug 4 (Hina) - On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the
Croatian military and police operation Storm, Victory and Homeland
Thanksgiving Day and War Veterans' Day, an association of Croatian
generals sent a message to the Croatian public, notably war veterans,
extending its best wishes and stressing that due to disagreements with
the state policy, this association called "Hrvatski Generalski Zbor"
will not again take part in the protocol to be held in Knin on
Thursday.
"We cannot watch with our hands crossed the president of the republic and the prime minister and their followers systematically and viciously working to destroy the truth and justice...," the association said in a statement on Wednesday.
The association condemns the attempts to belittle and discredit the war-time defence minister, Gojko Susak, as well as announced attempts to change the name of one street in Zagreb named after him.
