"The police and military Operation Storm is the crown of a just, liberation war which Croatia fought for its freedom and independence. Tomorrow we will proudly hoist our flag in Knin," said Josipovic and congratulated Victory and Homeland Thanksgiving Day and War Veterans' Day to Croatian war veterans.
"I wish people would come to Knin tomorrow in large numbers and I would like to use this opportunity to call on all citizens to attend this great event," Josipovic said.
Asked to comment on on Serbian President Boris Tadic's statement that the 1995 Croatian military and police operation Storm is a crime that must not be forgotten, Josipovic said "Storm" was the crown of a just, liberation war, adding that this is how the operation would go down in history.
Asked if Tadic's statement would harm their personal relations, Josipovic said this was "not a matter of personal relations."
President Josipovic was also asked to comment on the final submission by the ICTY Prosecution in the case "Gotovina, Cermak and Markac" in which the prosecutor's office asked the trial chamber to sentence the three Croatian generals to between 17 and 27 years in prison for war crimes committed during and in the aftermath of Operation Storm.
"This is the prosecutor's job," Josipovic said.
"I hope the defence teams have done a good job, we shall see - the tribunal will decide," he added.
