Croatian PM aims to bring more order to sports clubs regrading players' transfers

Autor: mses
SPLIT, Aug 10 (Hina) - Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor has announced bringing more order to sports clubs when it comes to transfers of players, and taxes on earnings from those transfers.

"It's high time that those who have much money should pay taxes. I think that it is the only just solution," Kosor said when she was asked to comment on President Ivo Josipovic's statement carried by a web portal that the Tax Authority should collect taxes from clubs for transfers of players and that new legislation should be adopted on taxes for sports clubs.

During her short visit to Split on Tuesday, Kosor said that she agreed with President Josipovic about this taxation policy.

She announced more efforts to be made to straighten out football clubs, rocked by recent scandals.

In this context she said that every citizen must pay taxes.

In response to reporters' question about her vacation, she said that she was still on holiday and that she made a short visit to Split, at the invitation of Split County Prefect Ante Sanader.
