In merino fleece, the 19 micron indicator was slightly dearer, 20/25/26m were 0.5 percent dearer and 24m up to 1.0 percent dearer, WI said. But 21/22m were 0.5 percent cheaper and 23m was unchanged. Merino skirtings were unchanged. In crossbreds, 27/29/30/31m were unchanged and 28m slightly dearer. In cardings, washing locks were unchanged, light carbonising locks slightly dearer and crutchings 1.0 percent dearer. Japanese interests provided principal competition with good support from most sectors of the trade, WI said. Of the 11,129 bales offered in Sydney, 13.2 percent were passed in.
