In merino fleece, the fine 19 micron was 2.5 percent dearer, 19m 3.0 percent dearer, 21m 1.0 percent dearer, 24m slightly dearer and 25/26m 0.5 percent dearer. But 22/23m were unchanged. Merino skirtings were up to 2.0 percent dearer. In crossbreds, 27/28/29/30m were 0.5 percent dearer and 31m 1.0 percent dearer. In cardings, lambs were up to 3.0 percent dearer and locks and crutchings were generally unchanged. Japanese interests were the principal buyers with good support from most sectors of the trade, WI said. Of the 18,886 bales offered, 8.2 percent were passed in.
