Selling levels were mostly firmer but trade was extremely light, they added. During the afternoon, the only reported trade was once again restricted to the palm oil sector, which ended the day $2.50 to $10 firmer on the back of the Malaysian palm oil futures. However, this effect was dampened slightly, by the easier start to Chicago soybean oil futures. RBD palm oil traded during the afternoon session $537.50 per tonne for Dec, while palm olein changed hands at $560 for Apr/Jun and stearin sold at $500 for Dec. Soy and rape oil finished tradeless but mostly 0.50 to one guilder firmer, while the lauric sector ended mixed, with coconut oil $5 completely unchanged and palmkernel oil $10 lower.
