"It has been the dullest day of the week," a merchant said. Traders said the focus of the market was spread activity as spot December continued to liquidate ahead of first notice day on November 21. "I would think the speculative funds were rolling out of December into March," the merchant said. Traders said Georgia continues to be plagued by rain which has delayed the cotton harvest and that it will take a few days for the fields to dry out. Rains in west Texas have also hampered harvesting. "There is ongoing rain in both Texas and Georgia, but it is expected to taper off in both regions by Friday," Weather Services Corp meteorologist Brian Gonsalves said. "That has kept the remaining cotton harvest on the slow side." Spot December was up 0.26 cent at 70.73 cents a lb and March gained 0.17 cent, ending at 72.13 cents a lb. 141108 MET nov 97
