Merino fleece of 19 microns was 0.5 percent cheaper, 20/21m unchanged, 22/23/24m 1.5 percent dearer, 25m slightly dearer and 26m 0.5 percent dearer with merino skirtings generally unchanged. In crossbreds, 27/28m were slightly dearer, 29m up to one percent dearer, 30m one percent cheaper and 31m slightly cheaper. WI said that in cardings, where movement could be partly attributed to a centre effect, stains were slightly dearer and other cardings generally unchanged compared to last week's Melbourne quotations. Japanese interests and China were principal buyers, it said. Of the 15,318 bales offered, 7.7 percent were passed in. Sales continue on Wednesday in Sydney, Adelaide and Fremantle with about 42,970 bales to be offered. _________________________________________________________________ Bradford - cijene vune - 11. kolovoza 1997. cijene u penijima/kg _________________________________________________________________ MERINO CROSSBRED 70s SUPER 525 58s SUPER 372 66s SUPER 475 58s BLENDED 350 64s SUPER 415 56s SUPER 350 64s BLENDED 409 54s CARDED 329 60s SUPER 384 50s CARDED 323 60s BLENDED 371 58s ENGLISH 262 56s ENGLISH 253 50s ENGLISH 249 Bradford wool cautious on buying interest BRADFORD, Aug 11 (Reuter) - Holidays again subdued the markets but some districts and countries were returning to work which revived the need for deliveries, even if not much of a revival in buying interest was seen. Bradford was aware of reports that China had raised thee annual quota and reduced tariffs. Increased buying interest is likely and was even put forward as a reason for a firmer Australian market late last week. Locally the demand side is seen as better but the attitude is to treat reports with caution and await saleroom developments. 131029 MET aug 97
