Where interest was evident it generally meant that sellers had to come down, sometimes accepting prices that failed to reflect repalcement costs. Combing activity was high and the worsted sector generally was busy. Brokers said there were no Australian wool sales to give a lead to prices but some encouragement was drawn from prices merino wool fetched in South Africa, particularly mille micro categories.
