Where interest was evident it generally meant that sellers had to come down, sometimes accepting prices that failed to reflect repalcement costs. Combing activity was high and the worsted sector generally was busy. Brokers said there were no Australian wool sales to give a lead to prices but some encouragement was drawn from prices merino wool fetched in South Africa, particularly mille micro categories. New Zealand crossbred sales levels confirmed this sectors firmer tendency recently, brokers said. London Newsroom, +44 171 542 7771 231015 MET may 97
