In its crop report released at 1230 GMT the USDA left its soybean carryover figure at 125 mlm bushels as many European traders expected. Soy oil futures also remained under pressure from concerns in the Chicago market over a possible glut of soy oil. At the close in Europe Dutch soy oil was unchanged to 1.25 guilders down while rape oil was 0.50 to one guilder lower in tradeless markets. Bearish sentiment also hit palm oil with crude palm oil $2.50 to $5 down and products $2.50 to $7.50 lower. In thin trading June crude palm oil fetched $552.50 a tonne cif. No further business was reported for palm products. Lauric oils closed lower with coconut oil unchanged to $5 down after Jun/Jul traded at $665 and Jul/Aug at $657.50 a tonne cif. Palmkernel oil finished unchanged to $10 lower. Traders said they expect business to be slow for the rest of the week with many players attending the oils and oilseeds convention in Budapest.
