Most-active July dipped below support which had been cited at the recent low of 72.20 cents a lb and sank to 72.15 cents. The next downside target was pegged at the contract low of 72.05 cents. The most-active July contract ended 0.09 cent firmer at 72.40 cents after trading from 72.90 to 72.15 cents. New-crop December finished down 0.12 cent to 74.93 cents. Volume was estimated at 7,500 lots compared with Wednesday's official 9,916 lots. The trade was cited as a buyer of the July contract and seller of December, while the speculators were on both sides of the market, traders said. "It's definately nail-biting time," Sharon Johnson, an analyst with Frank Schneider and Co Inc, said. She said that while the speculators should begin to cover a large net short position, the market may first have to work lower. Resistance remained at 74.00 cents. 051127 MET may 97
