ZAGREB, Dec 16 (Hina) - A two-hour strike was today held in Croatia
between 13.00 and 15.00 hrs.
The strike was called by the Croatian Independent Unions'
Federation (SSSH), the Croatian Association of Unions (HUS) and the
Croatian Independent Unions' Confederation (KNSH).
But the Bus Drivers' Union stopped traffic for only 15 minutes
because of the on-going rail strike.
The Zagreb Public Transport (ZET) Union, hospital workers,
doctors, many department stores and hotels where refugees are
accommodated, did not take part in the strike.
Unions are demanding the payment of a Christmas bonus to all
workers and pensioners, the signing of the National Agreement and
the finalization of collective agreements.
The strike was organised to protest against a proposed Labour
Law which was not drafted with the unions' cooperation.
It was also staged as an act of solidarity with the striking
rail workers who have been off the job since December 8.
