ZAGREB, Dec 8 (Hina) - "By ignoring negotiations on important
issues - including the security of passenger transport, the state
of the motor pool, the rails and the installations, working
conditions and bad investments - the Railways management proved it
did not care an iota about rail workers, escalating damages, the
passengers and the entire Croatian public," the rail workers'
strike committee said today in a statement.
The statement summarises talks between the strike committee
and management representatives:
The first talks ended two days before the strike began on
December 8. Since then parties have come no closer to talks except
for a formal session on December 12, called by the Minister of
Transport at the request of several members of the management
board.
The strike committee said it understood the inconvenience the
rail strike was causing train travelers and urged all those who
used rail services to demand an immediate resumption of talks.
