ZAGREB, Dec 7 (Hina0 - The Railway Workers' Union has called a
general strike for 10:00 hours tomorrow.
The railwaymen had been offered a permanent 3-percent salary
increase and a single payment of a month's salary increased by 10
percent, but the president of the strike committee, Darko
Pavicevic, said the offer was "puerile" and "humiliating."
"The strike committee is still waiting for the managing board
to come up with a serious offer," Pavicevic said.
"If it doesn't, the strike begins at 10 a.m. tomorrow,"
Pavicevic said.
The strikers are keeping the rail going at a minimum rate,
which includes international trains, local border lines, trains
carrying oil and military material, the Osijek-Zagreb and Vinkovci-
Zagreb express services and a Vinkovci-Zupanja shuttle service.
