ZAGREB, Dec 14 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman today
received a OSCE (Organisation on Security and Cooperation in
Europe) Presidency special envoy, Hungary's Istvan Gyarmati, who is
in Croatia on a fact-finding mission.
The talks focused on the last OSCE summit in Budapest and
relations within the OSCE.
President Tudjman said Mr. Gyarmati could count on his
personal assistance and Croatia's wholehearted support in his
mission.
The President's chief-of-staff Hrvoje Sarinic earlier met
Gyarmati to discuss the crisis in Bosnia and the implementation of
the Economic Agreement with Knin Serbs.
Gyarmati said his mission was aimed at obtaining information
on the situation in western Bosnia and the possibilities for an
integral resolution of the crisis.
Sarinic said Croatia was interested in pursuing the process of
normalising Croat-Serb relations and insisted that the Economic
Agreement with Knin Serbs be implemented.
Croatia demanded the consistent enforcement of the Belgrade
sanctions regime until the UN Protected Areas were fully
reintegrated into Croatia.
The talks supported the Contact Group Plan for Bosnia and
reaffirmed the importance of mutual recognition of countries
emerging from the former Yugoslavia, within their internatinally
recognised borders.
