UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY ADOPTS RESOLUTION ON BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA

NEW YORK, Nov 4 (Hina) - The UN General Assembly yesterday adopted the Resolution on the situation in Bosnia-Herzegovina by 97 votes and 61 abstentions, which once again confirmed the territorial integrity of Bosnia-Herzegovina. Describing the situation in the Serbian-controlled parts of the Republic of Bosnia-Herzegovina as a state of occupation, the resolution demands the reintegration of those areas. The resolution confirms the right of the Bosnian Government to self-defence and encourages the UN Security Council to give all due consideration and exempts the governments of the Republic and Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina from the embargo on deliveries of weapons and military equipment originally imposed by the Security Council. The resolution proposes the Washington agreements as a model of the overall settlement of the Bosnian crisis. The resolution condemns the continuing military activities of the Bosnian Serbs against the territory of the Republic of Croatia, and their actions in cooperation with the Serb paramilitary units from the occupied territories of Croatia against the territory of Bosnia-Herzegovina. The resolution demands an immediate ceasing of such actions. The resolution condemns the systematic ethnic cleansing committed by the Bosnian Serbs. The resolution strongly condemns the systematic, flagrant and mass violations of human rights and the international humanitarian law committed by Serbia, Montenegro and the Bosnian Serbs against the Bosnian people. The resolution demands disbanding of all Serbian concentration camps in Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia-Herzegovina. The resolution expresses deep alarm at the continuing systematic abuses committed against Albanians, Bosnians, Hungarians and Croatians, and others in Kosovo, Sandzak and Vojvodina, respectively, by the authorities of Serbia and Montenegro.
