ZAGREB, Oct 5 (Hina)- "We thoroughly condemn an Act from the
Slovene Parliament which annexes part of Croatian territory to
Slovenia," the Croatian Parliament House of Representatives said in
a declaration which was accepted this evening.
The Croatian declaration follows the Slovene Parliament
passing the Municipalities Act which treats four Croatian villages
part of the Piran municipality.
Eighty-four Croatian parliamentary deputies voted in favour of
the declaration, and one deputy sustained.
"The Republic of Croatia regards the Slovene Parliament
decision as null and void," the declaration said.
"It is contrary to the Act on mutual recognition of the two
states and out of line with international law.
"We expect the Slovene Parliament will rescind provisions in
the Act referring to the Croatian villages.
"The Croatian Parliament orders its Government to take all
necessary measures to protect the territorial integrity and
sovereignty of the Republic of Croatia," the declaration stressed.
The House of Representatives concluded that Parliament was to
send the declaration to the Slovene Government.
A multi-party parliamentary delegation is to be formed to
visit the villages of Skudelin, Buzim, Mlini and Skrilje in the
Buje municipality in the line with one of the conclusions.
The House of Representatives is to continue a session at 09:30
tomorrow.
Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic is to address Parliament
on Monday rendering a report on the circumstances under which the
UN Security Council had adopted the resolution on the extension of
the UNPROFOR mandate in Croatia.
