SPLIT, Feb 15 (Hina) - President of the International Olympic
Committee Juan Antonio Samaranch met in Split Tuesday afternoon for
talks with the President and Secretary of the Croatian Olympic
Commitee (HOO), Antun Vrdoljak and Slavko Podgorelec respectively.
The talks were held behind closed doors. Vrdoljak had told a
Hina report earlier that the talks would centre on achieving a
cease-fire during the current Winter Games at Lillehamer, Norway.
He also said that the HOO would put forward several proposals,
including the printing of "Lillehamer 94" postal stamps in Croatia
and the introducing of a sports award "Antonio Samaranch - Peace
through Sport."
