ZAGREB, May 29 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic today
received a Turkish delegation headed by Defence Minister Mehmet
Golhan, a Foreign Ministry statement said.
The talks focused on the situation in the region and the
occupied areas of Croatia.
Golhan said that Turkey firmly supported the territorial
integrity of Croatia and the reintegration of its occupied
territories, and therefore its recent action in Western Slavonia.
The two ministers discussed the situation in Bosnia-
Herzegovina in the light of the latest Bosnian Serb attacks on the
UN-declared safe areas which had resulted in a large number of
civilian casualties and UN troops being taken as hostages.
Croatia and Turkey demanded tougher international involvement
in Bosnia-Herzegovina to effectively respond to terrorism and step
up efforts to bring about peace.
The two countries voiced their firm support of a project for
establishing the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina and pledged to
cooperate in its implementation, the statement said.
