CROATIAN, BOSNIAN, TURKISH FOREIGN MINISTERS MEET IN ZENICA

ZENICA, May 18 (Hina) - The peace process in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia and the establishment of the Moslem-Croat federation in Bosnia-Herzegovina were the main topics of today's talks in Zenica involving delegations of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia and Turkey. The delegations were led by foreign ministers Irfan Ljubijankic of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Mate Granic of Croatia and Erdal Inonu of Turkey. Ljubijankic told a press conference after the talks that they shared views on all the issues, stressing that the Federation was "an imperative without alternative." According to a report by the goodwill mission which spent several days in the Federation, one of the most important problems was that of displaced persons and it would take a lot of time and effort to solve it, Ljubijankic said. Croatia supported the Washington accords on establishing the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina and its confederation with Croatia, Granic said. Granic added that Croatia supported negotiations with Belgrade aimed at restoring peace to the region, but only on condition of mutual recognition within internationally recognized borders. Croatia supported the implementation of the UNCRO mandate, attaching great importance to the control of Croatia's borders with Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia, he said. The new UNCRO mandate provided a framework for negotiations with Croatian Serbs on local autonomy in 11 municipalities, Granic said, adding that Croatia was ready to start negotiations at once. Turkey would continue supporting Contact Group peace efforts and the territorial integrity of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia, Inonu said. Today's meeting in Zenica was the fifth trilateral meeting of the Croatian, Bosnian and Turkish foreign ministers. (hina) jn rm vm 182129 MET may 95
