ZAGREB, May 19 (Hina) - The International Committee of the Red
Cross on Thursday delivered emergency medical supplies to the
Croat enclave of Orasje in northeastern Bosnia, where a large
number of people had been wounded during recent military
activities.
"ICRC delegates managed to take the surgical supplies,
enough to treat 300 war-wounded, on board a ferry across the Sava
River. Shelling had prevented the team from entering Orasje the
previous day," the ICRC said in a statement today.
It said around 40,000 people, including a large displaced
population, lived in the Orasje area.
ICRC delegates were assessing immediate needs of the local
population.
