MOSTAR, May 16 (Hina) - Three-day talks on establishment and
functioning of Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina began today in
Mostar, gathering the President of Federation, Kresimir Zubak, and
the Vice President Ejup Ganic, who represented the two partner
communities, as well as envoys from Croatia - President Tudjman's
advisors, for confederal issues, Bosiljko Misetic, and for
humanitarian actions, Slobodan Lang.
The talks are also attended by foreign "friends of Federation"
representatives, the US State dept's Charles Thomas and Christian
Schwarz-Schilling of Germany, both appointed officials for Bosnian
issues in their governments. German envoy to five-power Contact
Group, Michael Steiner, and international arbiter Roberts Owen are
included too.
All official agreed not to speak to the press until the
meeting is over. They are expected to offer both sides a new draft
document aimed to quicken the establishment of the Federation and
putting of the structure to work.
Meeting is sponsored by the European Union Administration of
Mostar (EUAM), and held in the EUAM site, behind closed doors. It
is scheduled to be over on Thursday, May 18.
