CROATIAN MINISTER FOR URBAN DEVELOPMENT VISITS KONAVLE

DUBROVNIK, May 13 (Hina) - Croatian Minister for urban development and housing, Marina Matulovic-Dropulic, who is touring Dubrovnik- Neretva County, visited the municipality of Konavle on Saturday. In the town of Cavtat Minister Matulovic-Dropulic met the Konavle mayor, Luka Korda, and his assistants. During the talks she was informed of the consequences of war damage inflicted on this Croatian area during Serbian-Montenegrin aggression. She was also told about the progress in reconstruction war-damaged residential and commercial facilities. At the talks interlocutors emphasized that mistakes from the past in the development of the area should be avoided in the future. In the past tourism was regarded as only important for the economic development, whereas other branches of economy were neglected. At the present not only tourism but also agriculture should be developed, for the municipality had good conditions for nourishing such sectors of economy, according to the talks held between the Konavle aldermen and Minister Matulovic-Dropulic.
