SARAJEVO, May 5 (Hina) - Yesterday's Serb artillery attack on Bihac
was aimed at threatening the lives of civilians, which is a blatant
violation of the Geneva Convention, UN spokesman Gary Coward said
today.
One woman was killed and six civilians, including three
children, were wounded when 122-mm cannon shells hit an apartment
building, Coward said.
Artillery clashes were reported yesterday in the Velika
Kladusa area, where UN personnel counted 160 detonations.
About a thousand armed incidents were reported in Sarajevo
yesterday. An 18-year-old man was wounded by a sniper. The Serbs
helped themselves to another UN military police vehicle. A
Norwegian medical convoy brought 21 sick and wounded people from
Srebrenica late last night.
An Ukrainian UNPROFOR soldier was killed early this morning in
Zepa, eastern Bosnia. He was probably hit by a bullet fired from
Bosnian army positions, the spokesman said, adding that
investigation was underway.
