JOINT CROAT, BOSNIAN ARMY COMMAND SOON TO BE FORMALLY ESTABLISHED

SARAJEVO, March 9 (Hina) - Bosnian army Chief-of-Staff, Gen. Rasim Delic, yesterday spoke on Bosnian TV about the Croatian-Bosnian agreement on military cooperation, reached on Monday. "The setting up of a joint supreme command of the Croatian army, the Croatian Defence Council (HVO) and the Bosnian army is a matter for political decision, and that is up to the Bosnian Presidency," Delic said. "This is the only reason why the joint command was not formally set up on Monday, as the Croatian side wanted," he said. Such a decision could be expected very soon, Delic said, but even so the two armies were not going to wait for the official go- ahead to undertake joint action. "Coordinated actions of the Croatian army, HVO and the Bosnian army will achieve much greater effect in the defence against Serb aggression," Delic said. The setting up of a joint command did not imply the subordination of any of the armies but created conditions for a more coordinated action on the ground. "It is our way of increasing pressure on the Serbs in order to find a political solution to the present crisis," Delic said. (hina) mm as 091054 MET mar 95
