CROATIAN ARMY, BOSNIAN FEDERATION FORCES SET UP JOINT COMMAND

ZAGREB, March 6 (Hina) - The Croatian army and the armed forces of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina, comprising the Bosnian Moslem-led government army and the Croat Defence Council (HVO), today established a joint military headquarters. The agreement was reached in Zagreb by Croatian Army Chief of Staff General Janko Bobetko, Bosnian Army Commander Brigadier General Rasim Delic, and HVO Chief of Staff Major General Tihomir Blaskic. Under the agreement, Bobetko will be the chief of staff of the joint military headquarters. "The first objective of the joint headquarters is to effectively support the Washington accords on establishing the Bosnia-Herzegovina federation and linking it in a confederation to Croatia. The second is to protect the territory, integrity, borders and people of the federation and the future confederation," Bobetko told Croatian television tonight. He added that the third objective was to secure the return of all refugees and displaced people to their homes. "In my estimate, this (agreement) should prevent even theoretical possibilities of Croats and Bosniacs (Moslems) being disunited, and ensure that our historic tasks are carried out," Bobetko said. Delic said that he had been waiting for this moement to come for three years, since the outbreak of war in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and added that he was happy that "at this mement we are joining forces in our antifascist struggle." "By setting up a joint headquarters soldiers will have the opportunity to organize their activities more effectively," Blaskic said. (hina) jn vm 062120 MET mar 95
