TIRANA, Jan 10 (Hina) - Albanian police blocked 20 entry points
through which petrol had been smuggled from Albania to Montenegro.
Such a measure undertaken by the Albanian financial police in
cooperation with police for prevention of petrol smuggling near
Skradin Lake, should last as long as the UN oil embargo on against
Serbia and Montenegro was in effect.
At the end of the last year the Albanian police halted 22
cisterns with 800,000 oil products bound for Montenegro.
The latest actions of the Albanian Government aimed at
preventing petrol smuggling to the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia
(Serbia/Montenegro) included introducing tougher policy towards
Serbia and Montenegro to enforce the oil embargo, Tirana sources
said.
