NO SIGNS OF FURTHER ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE FROM OIL SPILL

SIBENIK, Jan 3 (Hina) - There were no signs that the oil spill 12 days ago from an UNPROFOR tank near Bribirske Mostine had polluted the Guduca Creek. This was the opinion of the 'Krka' National Park management representatives who, escorted by UN military observers, this afternoon sailed two kilometers upward of the Guduca canyon, National Park director Gorana Deljac-Stipanicev said. UNPROFOR allowed "Krka' National Park experts to visit Guduca after discussions this morning between representatives of the Sibenik County, National Park management, and the Croatian Government office for UNPROFOR relations and UNPROFOR commander in Croatia, Major General Tayyeb. It was agreed that from tomorrow Guduca would be patrolled twice daily. UNPROFOR officials around 4pm today in Zaton, near Sibenik, received floating dams, pumps and other equipment to clean up the area polluted by the oil spill. General Tayyeb said it had polluted the soil around Bribirske Mostine and the Bribisnica river as far as the Ladevac hamlet. (hina) mm sd mms 031922 MET jan 95
