ZAGREB, Dec 7 (Hina) - The Head Committee of the Croatian
Democratic Union (HDZ) party, on Saturday morning began the second
session to discuss current issues of Croatia's development under
the present international circumstances and holding of elections
for bodies of local authorities and self-government as well as for
the House of Counties of the Croatian Parliament.
At the beginning of the session Croatia's and the HDZ
President Franjo Tudjman spoke of circumstances under which the
Croatian state had been created when the international community
had favoured the Versailles pact and had been against the creation
of the independent and sovereign Croatia.
Tudjman stressed the success of the HDZ party in the creation
of the independent state. He warned of attempts of certain foreign
circles to destabilize the HDZ party and thus the Croatian state,
by help of their like-minded persons in Croatia.
The party's secretary-general, Ivan Valent addressed the HDZ
head committee members, speaking about the topic on holding the
elections for bodies of local authorities and self-government and
of the House of Counties of the Croatian Parliament.
