CROATIAN PRESIDENT RECEIVES MESSAGES OF SUPPORT

ZAGREB, Nov 22 (Hina) - A number of welcome-back telegrams were sent on Friday to Croatian President Franjo Tudjman who is returning from Washington on Saturday morning. President of the Croatian Olympic Committee (HHO) and member of the International Olympic Committee, Antun Vrdoljak, forward a telegram to President Tudjman which said, "Us, Croatian sports people and people involved in sports, express our joy for another one of your victories. You know that on your voyage, a wish followed you, one thought and one prayer: for Croatia and its President". The Croatian Writers' Society and the Croatian Emigrants' Society also sent their messages of welcome and wishes for good health to President Tudjman. The head of the Croatian Emigrants' Society and Croatian informative centre, Ante Beljo, expressed conviction that the President's health would soon enable him to continue successfully fulfilling his duties to the well-being of the Croatian people in the homeland and abroad. On behalf of the residents of the Sisak County, the County aldermen forwarded a message to President Tudjman which said that they impatiently awaited for his return to the homeland, so that they might continue to work together for the country's progress and development. Members of the Croatian Independent Construction Union sent to President Tudjman sincere greetings and wishes for his fast recovery. President Tudjman also received messages from Croats in Bosnia-Herzegovina. On behalf of the Bosnian Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), president of the HDZ, Bozo Rajic, and the Western Herzegovina Canton prefect, Ivan Penava, sent messages with wishes for a speedy recovery.
