MINISTER GRANIC TALKS WITH GREENSTOCK

ZAGREB, Nov 25 (Hina) - Croatia's Foreign Minister Mate Granic, on Monday received the British Foreign Office political director Jeremy Greenstock. During the Zagreb talks with Minister Granic and an aide to the Minister, Hido Biscevic, the British official informed them about the forthcoming London conference on the peace agreements implementation in Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Croatian Foreign Ministry said in a statement. Minister Granic said that the Republic of Croatia firmly backed the implementation of the Dayton peace accords. He reiterated that his country was resolute in the strengthening of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina and in the cooperation with the Federation. Croatia would also contribute to the reconstruction of Bosnia-Herzegovina, he said adding that it was necessary now to establish all institutions of authority in Bosnia-Herzegovina and in the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina on the grounds of results of the elections which had been held. Croatian Minister informed Greenstock of the peaceful reintegration process of the Croatian Danubian area, which represents the priority of the Croatian politics. He stressed the support of all Croatian competent institutions to the Transitional Administrator of the area in question, General Jacques Klein. Granic said the Republic of Croatia was now in the times when it could orientate itself more toward domestic development and toward getting near to the European integration processes. He added that negotiations on the PHARE programme and on further contractual relations with the European Union were now to be resumed. The Foreign Office political director expressed satisfaction with relations between Croatia and Great Britain. He particularly stressed Britain's interest in development of overall economic and political relations between Zagreb and London. He said his country was ready to help the Republic of Croatia in its bid for approaching the European Union, the statement said. (hina) jn mš 251828 MET nov 96
