ZAGREB, Oct 24 (Hina) - The president of the Croatian
Parliament's human and minority rights committee, Miroslav Kis,
on Thursday received members of the OSCE mission to Croatia, J.S.
Sorensen and J. Mamedov, the committee said in a statement.
The OSCE officials were interested in the implementation of
laws regulating the rights of ethnic and national minorities in
Croatia, particularly the exercise of the right to cultural
autonomy and education in minority languages.
Kis said that Croatian legislation on ethnic and national
communities met the highest international standards, the
statement said.
Also discussed were the suffering of Croats and members of
ethnic communities during Serbian aggression against Croatia,
ethnic cleansing, efforts by Croatian authorities to normalize
the situation in the war-ravaged areas and the peaceful
reintegration of Eastern Slavonia, Baranja and Western Srijem.
