An Italian delegation is on Wednesday and Thursday to hold
talks with Croatian business people about further promotion of
economic cooperation.
Italy had been Croatia's first economic partner since this
July, Fassimo told reporters.
A joint business commission is to draw up two important
contracts: a contract on avoiding double taxation and a contract on
stimulation of investments, Fassimo said, adding that cooperation
had to improve in the fields of tourism, energy supply and fishery.
After agreements in the fields of economy and culture, the
development of bilateral relations should be confirmed with a
contract on friendship and cooperation, Fassimo said.
The two officials agreed that Italy and Croatia would hold
regular consultations and Simonovic was invited to visit Rome in
December.
Croatian Vice-Premier Jure Radic on Wednesday received Piero
Fassimo. The talks focused on the strengthening and promotion of
political relations between the two countries and on Italian
investments in Croatia. A meeting between Radic and representatives
of Italian companies and investors has been agreed to take place in
Rome next month.
