$ EMENT ON 14 SEPT
SARAJEVO, 9 Sept (Hina) - The highest officials of the Croat-Muslim
Federation's Interior Ministry and the Bosnian Serb entity on
Monday signed an agreement on securing conditions for the conduct
of elections scheduled for 14 September. #L#
According to the agreement, which was signed by the Federation
Interior Minister Avdo Hebib and his deputy Jozo Leutar and the
Serb entity Interior Minister Dragan Kijac, the three sides would
secure free movement of voters, who would use special road routes.
The three officials confirmed their commitment to secure
maximum presence of police on those roads and free passage of all
passengers. Demonstrations or any other form of gathering along
those roads would not be allowed, and the roads would lead to all
municipalities in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
In order to enable 'the greatest number of voters to cross the
inter-entity boundary', the three officials agreed that the
transport of voters be carried out in vehicles with eight or more
seats. Personal vehicles will not be allowed.
Each vehicle will have a clear destination sign and all
vehicles will be checked by local police forces, who will be
monitored by international police and IFOR.
Weapons, propaganda material, flags and placards will not be
allowed along the road routes agreed on by the three officials. On
the election day, local police will be able to arrest only war
crime suspects.
