SARAJEVO, Sept 6 (Hina) - Bosnian Federation opposition
representatives on Friday decided to request the help of the U.S.
Administration to ensure essential conditions for the holding of
free and democratic elections in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
"We have agreed to request the support and help of the U.S.
government in order to ensure basic conditions for normal
elections, that is request guarantees that elections held under
current conditions won't cause the secession of parts of BH",
president of the Liberal Bosniak Organization Muhamed Filipovic
said after today's consultation meeting in Sarajevo.
The participants in today's meeting would first inform
representatives at the U.S. Embassy in Sarajevo about their
requests, and a U.S. Embassy delegation would go to the U.S. next
week to inform the government, Filipovic said.
"What we want is help to ensure the basic provisions that the
Dayton Agreement guarantees as a firm basis for the future of BH",
Filipovic said.
He also confirmed that the possibility of a boycott of the
elections had not been discussed at today's meeting, and added that
a final decision on that matter should be reached after the stance
of the U.S. Administration regarding conditions for the holding of
elections was clear.
